Core Mechanic Overhaul


As I was working on Oasis Roads it became apparent that the old dice system had two major flaws:

One, it's significantly slower than most alternatives that do other things. It wasn't so difficult that initial testing caused issues, but it was convoluted enough that it slowed down play and made explaining the game hard, which are both serious issues for a game that's meant to allow quick play and be run without too much prior investment.

Two, it artificially reduces the results space, which means that there are fewer options to work with as far as advanced character elements that will be in the full version of Oasis Roads.

As a result, the mechanic has been changed. Where it was a success-based system, we now just take the direct result of the better die in the roll, which goes faster and offers more granularity in the resolution process.
