“What is it?”

Dad takes the object in his hands and turns it over. The paint has worn through in places where the metal gleams beneath. “I don’t know.”

It’s a cylinder. Big and heavy, at least for me. “Is it safe?”

“Probably not. We should leave it. Nobody will buy it.”

It clatters to the ground. His fingers are black where he touched it. He holds them up in the pale blue dim of the ancient corridor. “Vani, dear? Don’t touch anything.”

The Game

Recension is a post-post apocalyptic game Rooted in Trophy in which the players explore the final days of the apocalypse and return light to the dark corners of a world ravaged by war machines and nanobiotic plagues.

Almost a thousand years have passed, and the threats facing humanity on the world of Nova have mostly faded into irrelevance. 

Now you will set out on a quest, perhaps to change the world, perhaps just to change your circumstances. Maybe you will even wind up among the stars as humanity once again fulfils its destiny.
