Top-Down Shooter Prototype
This is a game that I've been working on for about a week while teaching myself some Godot.
You'll find that it's fairly rough, especially with my programmer art. Currently there are two "story" levels (the first leads into the second) and a debug level to play around in.
The idea I have for this is that it could evolve into a semi-open-world style game with some RPG elements and come to resemble a mixture between Deus Ex, Synthetik, and the Genesis Shadowrun game, which have all been fairly major influences for me.
You'll notice semi-authentic gunplay with firearms that require unloading.
Feel free to leave feedback/advice.
Controls:
WASD for movement.
Shift to boost, if wearing armor that supports it.
LMB to fire.
MMB or E to eject a magazine.
R to reload current weapon with a magazine. This will also eject if EZ Gun is on.
ESC to return to main menu.
Known Issues:
There is no music, despite the game supporting it.
The AI would be infinitely better with a finite state machine hooked up. That's high priority.
Shotguns do not have unique ammo icons like rifles and handguns. This would require me to look up a reference.
Credits:
Kenney's 1-bit tileset for graphics, also Kenney's crosshair pack.
Freesounds (users bolkmar, rudmer-rotteveel, filmmakersmanual, and roll1n).
Features I will probably add if I work beyond this prototype:
Dialogue
RPG progression
Inventory system
Modding
Things that I probably won't do:
Multiplayer
