“Yeah, we’re doing a piece on all the old mining towns around here for a magazine.”

“I’m from Hillgate. Odd folks, that’s why I left. Be careful up there, you hear?”

“We will, thanks. Do you know where we could find a place to stay for the night?”

“Could try asking over at Murphy’s bar. He sometimes has a couple rooms open. Or maybe the church. Just wait ‘til they’re done with their meeting.”

“Thank you,” Jen says.

“Just stay away from Greenrock Mine. That place ain’t safe.”

The Game

When Shadows Rest is a Breathless cosmic horror game in an original modern setting, though a GM can adapt it to any setting with little difficulty.

The game expands on Breathless's simple and robust mechanics to deliver an experience intended for a longer multi-session game. As the players explore their world, they uncover secrets, but are tainted by what they find.

Will they be able to figure out what's going on and make it out with their lives? Or will Greenrock Mountain claim them as it has so many before them?
